Koiwai Farm Makibaen
Makiba Park offers a variety of experiential programs, such as butter-making and harvesting farm vegetables. There are also nature observation events in the forest within the farm to enjoy. The park features 21 historical buildings, including a barn and silo, which are registered as Important Cultural Properties of Japan, with nine buildings in the Kamimaru barn available for tours. Additionally, visitors can experience history at the "Koiwai Farm Important Cultural Property Gallery," utilizing the latest digital technology.
Dining is also a treat, with the park's restaurants and snack corners serving dishes and sweets made with farm-fresh meats and vegetables. The soft-serve ice cream made from freshly squeezed milk from the farm is especially recommended.
In winter, one of the largest illumination events in the Tohoku region takes place, allowing visitors to appreciate the beauty of the farm from a different perspective. The park is also famous for its lone cherry blossom tree blooming against the backdrop of Mount Iwate. Koiwai Farm Makiba Park is a wonderful tourist destination where nature and culture coexist, providing fun and educational opportunities for visitors of all generations.
