Kabira Bay
Kabira Bay is located in the northwest of Ishigaki Island and is one of Okinawa's top scenic spots. It features a beautiful landscape with crystal-clear emerald green waters, white sandy beaches, and lush uninhabited islands scattered throughout. Swimming is prohibited in the bay due to the strong tidal currents, but visitors can observe coral reefs and tropical fish through glass-bottom boats. Since the Taisho era, black pearl farming has been conducted here, making it a popular tourist destination. The dramatic changes in the color of the sea depending on the weather and time of day are breathtaking, making Kabira Bay a must-visit attraction that can be enjoyed all day long on Ishigaki Island.
