Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan

Kaiyukan is an aquarium that faithfully recreates the natural environment of the Pacific Ocean and its surrounding waters, the largest ocean in the world. It features large tanks that represent different regions of the Pacific Ring of Fire. The 14 exhibition tanks themed around the Pacific Ring of Fire are arranged based on the geographical locations of the Pacific. The highlight is the grand "Pacific" tank, which is 9 meters deep, 34 meters long, and holds 5,400 tons of water. It is breathtaking to see about 620 species and over 30,000 marine organisms swimming gracefully, including whale sharks, manta rays, and hammerhead sharks.

The exhibits are diverse; in "Japanese Forest," you can enjoy a natural environment with waterfalls and lush vegetation, while in "Tasman Sea," you can observe the lives of dolphins. The "Jellyfish Galaxy" showcases enchanting jellyfish. In 2020, to celebrate its 30th anniversary, the aquarium renewed its tank lighting, realistically reproducing moments when sunlight penetrates the ocean and when clouds obstruct the light.

Access is convenient, just a 5-minute walk from Osaka Metro Chuo Line's "Osakako Station." For families, couples, and nature lovers, Kaiyukan is the perfect spot to appreciate the beauty of the Pacific Ocean and the value of life. Take this opportunity to reflect on the wonders of life and the importance of the Earth's environment.
