Naruto Whirlpools
The Naruto Whirlpools are one of the three great tidal currents in the world, occurring in the Naruto Strait. These whirlpools can be observed between Naruto City and Awaji Island in a narrow strait of just 1.3 km, where intense tidal currents caused by the difference in sea levels between the Seto Inland Sea and the Kinki Channel create whirlpools with a maximum diameter of up to 20 meters during the spring and autumn high tides. By using the sightseeing boats "Wonder Naruto" or the underwater sightseeing boat "Aqua Eddy," visitors can experience the power of the whirlpools up close. The observation deck at Naruto Park, as well as the nearby Ohnaruto Bridge Memorial Museum Edu and the Otsuka Museum of Art, are also recommended tourist spots.
