Awa Odori Hall
Awa Odori is a famous Bon Odori dance that takes place every August in Tokushima, attracting many spectators. However, by visiting the Awa Odori Hall, you can learn about and enjoy this dance any time of the year. Inside the hall, you can discover the history and traditions of Awa Odori and experience the vibrant festival through photos and videos.
Furthermore, local groups perform Awa Odori every day, where dancers teach the audience how to dance and share the fun of participating together. The phrase associated with Awa Odori is "A fool who dances and a fool who watches; if both are fools, then why not dance?" Dancers invite audience members onto the stage for a joyful experience together.

By train: Get off at Tokushima Station → approximately 10 minutes on foot - Parking
- Regular parking for 26 cars (height under 1.55m), 330 yen for the first hour, and 160 yen for every additional 30 minutes. There are also designated paid parking lots nearby at the Awa Odori Hall. A free bus parking lot in front of the Awa Odori Hall is available for 13 buses on a first-come, first-served basis. For inquiries, please contact the Awa Odori Hall.

▶1F Ardeyo Tokushima
Tokushima Prefecture Products and Tourism Exchange Plaza “Ardeyo Tokushima” is a shop operated by the Tokushima Prefecture Products Association. It sells a wide range of Tokushima crafts and specialties, including indigo-dyed goods, sudachi citrus products, and sweets made with Naruto Kintoki sweet potatoes.
▶2F Awa Odori Hall
A dedicated hall for viewing Awa Odori performances (250 seats). For the daytime performance, the Awa Odori Kaikan’s resident troupe “Awa no Kaze” appears; for the evening performance, renowned troupes take turns performing one troupe per day, presenting dynamic Awa Odori right before your eyes. Some performances also include an “experience corner” where visitors can enjoy trying Awa Odori themselves.
▶2F Gallery Space
A paid gallery space available for photo exhibitions and art shows. Regular exhibitions include “Yukata Exhibition by Famous Troupe Members” and “Awa Odori Photo Exhibition.” Lanterns bearing the names of famous troupes are displayed by the windows.
▶3F Awa Odori Museum
The “Awa Odori Museum” is a place where you can learn about the history and culture of Awa Odori. Costumes, props, and instruments from both past and present are on display, allowing visitors to clearly understand how Awa Odori has evolved over time.
▶4F Activity Rooms
The Awa Odori Kaikan has four activity rooms of various sizes available for a fee. They can be used not only for Awa Odori practice, but also for meetings, events, and more.
▶5F Moraes Gallery “SAUDADE”
“SAUDADE” is a Portuguese word that expresses nostalgia, sorrow, and remembrance. This gallery permanently exhibits materials related to the Portuguese literary giant Moraes, who loved Tokushima.
▶5F Awagin Bizan Ropeway Base Station
The base station of the Bizan Ropeway connecting the Awa Odori Kaikan and the summit of Mount Bizan. The ride to the summit station takes about six minutes. From the summit, you can enjoy a magnificent panorama of the Tokushima Plain facing the Kii Channel. In addition to the Yoshino River, known as Shikoku Saburo, you can also see the Great Naruto Bridge and Awaji Island in the distance, and on clear days, even the Kii Peninsula.
