Sun Messe Nichinan
Sun Messe Nichinan is a special tourist spot that has completely recreated the Moai statues from Easter Island (Rapa Nui) in Japan. The Japanese Moai restoration team received approval from the elder council and residents of Rapa Nui for the first time, and they worked for three years starting in 1992 to erect 15 Moai statues. Seven of them (Ahu Akivi) stand beautifully on a small hill along the Nichinan coastline, each reaching 5.5 meters in height and weighing between 18 to 20 tons.
Within the park, you can find a rare insect exhibition, panels authorized directly by the UNESCO headquarters, ground designs of butterflies, a souvenir shop, a restaurant, and fast food options. The Moai statues are believed to be power spots; touching the second statue from the right is said to enhance financial luck, while the third statue from the left is believed to boost romantic luck. Experience the landscape in harmony with the blue ocean of Nichinan and feel the power of nature that this land possesses.
