Aoshima Shrine
Aoshima Shrine is located on Aoshima in Miyazaki City, where the entire island serves as the shrine grounds. It enshrines Hikohodemi no Mikoto and Toyotama-hime no Mikoto, and is believed to bring benefits for matchmaking, safe childbirth, and maritime safety. It is also famous as the setting for the myth of "Umi no Sachi Hiko and Yama no Sachi Hiko," making it a popular power spot for love connections. The shrine is rich in items related to romantic fulfillment, such as heart-shaped ema (wooden plaques) and "Inotome" charms, attracting many couples and women. Additionally, Aoshima itself is designated as a national special natural monument.
