Detailed Information

Minoo Waterfall is a magnificent waterfall located in Minoo City, Osaka Prefecture, with a height of 33 meters and a width of about 5 meters. It is a famous waterfall that has been selected as one of the "Top 100 Waterfalls in Japan." The waterfall's flow resembles the agricultural tool "mi," used for sifting grains, which is how it got its name and also gives origin to the current name "Minoo."

Minoo Park, where the waterfall is situated, is part of the Meiji no Mori Minoo Quasi-National Park and was chosen as one of the "Top 100 Forest Bathing Areas" in 1986. It takes about 40 minutes to walk along the riverside promenade called "Takimichi" from Hankyu "Minoo Station." During the walk, visitors can enjoy the sounds of nature and the scenic beauty of different seasons.

Particularly in autumn, Minoo is known for its stunning foliage, attracting many tourists from mid-November to early December. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom; summer brings lush greenery; and in winter, the icy waterfalls and snow-covered landscapes are beautiful, showcasing the different charms of Minoo Waterfall throughout the year.

Additionally, nearby attractions include Takian-ji, which enshrines Japan's oldest Benzaiten, the sacred site of Shugendo, Tenjo-ga-take, related to the monk En-no-gyoja, and the Minoo Park Insect Museum, featuring around 10,000 insect specimens along with a butterfly garden, allowing visitors to experience nature and history all at once.

Minoo is easily accessible, just a 30-minute train ride from Umeda in Osaka, making it a popular healing tourist destination where many people can escape the urban hustle and bustle.
