Nanatsugama
Nanatsugama is a scenic spot in the Kanmon Straits designated as a national natural monument. It features a magnificent natural formation created by the erosion of basalt by rough waves. Seven caves line the cliffs, and the rock surface is characterized by regularly arranged columnar joints. The largest cave has an entrance of 3 meters and a depth of 110 meters, and if the sea conditions are favorable, it is possible to enter it by sightseeing boat. The upper area has been developed into a grassy plateau with observation decks and walking paths, making it popular among tourists. The surrounding area is also known as a fishing spot, and at the northern tip of the cape, there is Doki Zaki Shrine, which enshrines Empress Jingu.
