Yoshinogari Historical Park
Yoshinogari Historical Park is a national park where visitors can experience Japan's Yayoi period, located on about 54 hectares of beautiful hills straddling Kanzaki City and Yoshinogari Town in Saga Prefecture. This park was established for the preservation and utilization of the Yoshinogari ruins. It is developed as an integrated historical park of approximately 117 hectares, combining the national Yoshinogari Historical Park with the prefectural park.
Within the park, there are plentiful facilities where visitors can experience the culture and history of the Yayoi period. Restorations of watchtowers and pit dwellings, elevated granaries, and exhibition rooms showcase valuable artifacts, including bronze swords and glass beads excavated from the site, as well as other tools and decorative items from ancient times, allowing for a deep engagement with ancient Japanese life and culture.
The park is divided into four zones that recreate the atmosphere of the Yoshinogari ruins. Depending on the season, visitors can enjoy wildflowers such as Umanoashigata and Benibana, as well as ancient plants like Ooga Hasu. Additionally, experiential programs and special exhibitions are held throughout the year, providing new discoveries with each visit.
