Nokonoshima Island

Nokonoshima is a small, eggplant-shaped island just 10 minutes by ferry from Meihama Ferry Terminal in Fukuoka City. It is rich in nature, offering activities such as fishing, swimming, hiking, and insect collecting. From the Nokonoshima Observatory, visitors can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view, including sights of Fukuoka Tower and PayPay Dome. "Nokonoshima Island Park" is a famous spot where seasonal flowers can be enjoyed, with cosmos in particular providing a breathtaking view from early October to early November. The island also has historical sites, making it perfect for day trips or weekend getaways, with easy access from the city. Visitors can taste Nokon Udon and explore the island by renting bicycles, and dining in Tenjin or Nakasu is also recommended. With a circumference of about 12 km, Nokonoshima, which can be enjoyed year-round, is a popular retreat for the citizens of Fukuoka.
