Kongōbu-ji
Kongōb номерji is the headquarters of the Kōyasan Shingon sect, and is a sacred site of Japanese Buddhism established by the Great Teacher Kūkai in the early Heian period. The magnificent main hall, reconstructed in the 3rd year of the Bunkyū era (1863), spans approximately 54.5 meters east to west and 63.6 meters north to south, adorned with sliding door paintings by Kano Tanyu depicting "Cranes among Pines" and by Kano Tansai featuring "Snow Willow and White Eagle." The temple grounds boast a vast area of about 48,295 tsubo and are registered as part of the UNESCO World Heritage site known as "Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range."
