Detailed Information

Yomiuriland is one of Tokyo’s leading large amusement parks, situated on a hillside straddling Inagi City in Tokyo and Kawasaki City in Kanagawa Prefecture. With excellent access just about 30 minutes by train from Shinjuku, it attracts visitors of all ages throughout the year, offering fun in every season.

A Wide Variety of Attractions
Yomiuriland offers a diverse lineup of attractions, from thrilling rides to attractions for children. One of the most popular is Bandit, a full-scale roller coaster stretching 1,560 meters with a top speed of 110 km/h. Racing through a lush green forest, this exhilarating course is especially famous in spring as the “fastest cherry blossom viewing in history” when it speeds through a tunnel of cherry blossoms.

The Loop Coaster MOMOnGA, which once gained popularity as Japan’s first stand-up roller coaster, sadly ended operations in 2021. Other highlights include Crazy Hyu-Stone, where riders experience gravity on a 60-meter twin tower, one of the rare bungee jumps in Tokyo, and the Great Ferris Wheel, from which Mt. Fuji can be seen on clear days.

For children, there are plenty of family-friendly attractions such as Merry-Go-Round Dog, featuring Yomiuriland’s character Land Dog, Wanwan Coaster Wanded, and the adorable Sweets Cup.

Seasonal Enjoyment
In spring, cherry blossoms color the park, and the view of the blossoms from Bandit is truly spectacular.

In summer, Pool WAI opens with five pools and three large water slides. Guests can enjoy the wave pool, lazy river, and slides, all while feeling like they’re at a resort right in Tokyo. A night pool is also held in the evening, making it perfect for couples and groups of friends.

Autumn is the season of beautiful foliage, and the views from the Sky Shuttle gondola and the Ferris wheel are especially impressive. Halloween events are also very popular.

In winter, Jewel Illumination, one of the largest illumination events in the Kanto region, takes place. Produced by world-renowned lighting designer Motoko Ishii, the illumination envelops the entire park in a magical glow.

Hands-On Experiences and Shows
The park also features Goodjoba!!, an interactive area where visitors can learn while having fun. In the Food Factory, where guests can learn about the production process in a food factory, there are hands-on activities such as creating original packaging, offering content that children will love.

The charming sea lion show is another popular attraction. Beyond the amusement rides, the park also offers facilities such as JU-JU BBQ Park, a covered barbecue area that can be enjoyed regardless of the weather, and Yomiuriland Okanoyu, a day-use hot spring facility.

Sky Shuttle Gondola
From Keio Yomiuriland Station, the nearest station, visitors can take the Sky Shuttle gondola to the amusement park. This leisurely aerial ride offers stunning views from above. The scenery is especially beautiful and highly recommended during the cherry blossom season in spring and the autumn foliage season.

Yomiuriland is an amusement park full of charm, with not only a wide variety of attractions but also seasonal events and educational experiences. Whether you visit with family, as a couple, or with friends, it offers something satisfying for everyone. Why not take a break from everyday life and spend some time smiling here?
