Detailed Information
LEGOLAND® Japan is Japan’s first outdoor kids’ theme park, which opened on April 1, 2017 in Kinjo-futo, Minato Ward, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture. It is the eighth LEGOLAND® park in the world and the first in Japan, designed mainly for children aged 2 to 12 and their families.
The park features an impressive scale, using around 17 million LEGO® bricks and approximately 10,000 LEGO® models, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the world of LEGO®. Spread across eight themed areas, the park offers more than 40 attractions, shows, theaters, dining facilities, and shops. While some attractions have height restrictions, many can be safely enjoyed by children as short as 90 cm, and there are plenty of activities that parents and children can experience together. It is an ideal theme park for creating precious family memories.
Introduction to the 8 Theme Areas
■ Factory
Here, guests can enjoy the “LEGO® Factory Tour,” where they can learn about the LEGO® brick manufacturing process in a fun way. One of the highlights is receiving freshly made LEGO® bricks at the end of the tour. The Big Shop, one of the largest retail stores in Asia, also offers many exclusive products available only here.
■ Bricktopia
A creative area where visitors can freely play with LEGO® bricks. At “Build and Test,” guests can challenge themselves by racing cars they made themselves, letting their imagination run wild regardless of age.
■ Adventure
An adventure-themed area set against the backdrop of the sea and ancient ruins. At “Submarine Adventure,” visitors can enjoy an underwater expedition as part of the LEGO® divers, and at “Lost Kingdom Adventure,” they set off on a treasure hunt in ancient ruins.
■ LEGO® City
An interactive area where visitors can operate various vehicles such as cars, airplanes, and boats on their own. There is also an attraction where children can become firefighters and put out fires. By learning through driving experiences, guests can earn an official LEGOLAND® driver’s license.
■ Knight’s Kingdom
An area themed around the world of medieval knights in Europe. In addition to a thrilling dragon-shaped roller coaster racing through the castle, there is also a mini roller coaster for younger children, offering adventures suited to different ages.
■ Pirate Shores
An area where visitors can enjoy water-based attractions in a pirate world setting. In “Splash Battle,” guests use water guns and cannons to battle pirates in an exciting, heart-pounding experience.
■ Miniland
An area where famous landmarks and cityscapes from all over Japan are meticulously recreated entirely with LEGO® bricks. Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, and more are represented, and one of the highlights is Nagoya Castle, standing about 2 meters tall and built from approximately 225,000 LEGO® bricks—an exclusive sight that can only be seen here.
■ LEGO® NINJAGO® World
A popular area that opened in July 2019, where visitors can experience the world of LEGO® NINJAGO®. It features the large-scale ride attraction “Flying NINJAGO,” the second of its kind in the world, as well as interactive activities themed around ninja training and food stands that recreate the world of NINJAGO®.
Resort Facilities and Special Experiences
On the grounds of LEGOLAND® Japan, guests will find SEA LIFE Nagoya, an aquarium where they can see, touch, and learn, as well as LEGOLAND® Japan Hotel, where they can stay overnight in the world of LEGO® bricks. From the lobby to the guest rooms, the hotel is filled with the LEGO® spirit, and themed rooms plus treasure hunt activities make the stay itself a special experience.
Since 2021, the Happy Birthday Package has also been available, allowing families to celebrate a child’s birthday together. This special program includes surprise elements and creates an unforgettable day for the whole family. For package details and pricing, checking the official website is recommended.
Access and Appeal
It takes about 24 minutes by train from Nagoya Station, and the park is only about a 5-minute walk from Kinjo-futo Station on the Aonami Line, making access very convenient. With rides perfect for young children’s “first experiences,” imaginative workshops, and mini-figure trading, LEGOLAND® offers plenty of uniquely special experiences.
LEGOLAND® Japan is one of Japan’s leading family theme parks, where play, learning, and creativity can all be nurtured at the same time, while cherishing the precious time families can spend together now. It is one of the must-visit sightseeing spots when traveling to Aichi Prefecture.
