Detailed Information

Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse is a historical building made of brick located in the Minato Mirai 21 area of Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. It was constructed as a model warehouse by the government during the late Meiji and early Taisho periods. The two three-story red brick warehouses now serve as a multipurpose facility where visitors can enjoy culture, shopping, and gourmet experiences.

In Building No. 1, there are halls and galleries that host a variety of performances and exhibitions, including dance, theater, music, and art, as well as cafes and souvenir shops that are characteristic of Yokohama, serving as a hub for the city's artistic culture. Building No. 2 features a variety of shops including restaurants, a food court, fashion retailers, miscellaneous goods, and desserts, allowing visitors to enjoy unique shopping and dining experiences that are exclusive to Yokohama (the number of shops may vary depending on the season).

Inside the warehouses, facilities from the warehousing era are still partially preserved, including iron doors, a freight ramp covered with stairs, an early cargo elevator, and emergency water valves (sprinklers), allowing visitors to feel the history as the modern industrial heritage. The cobblestone event plaza between Buildings No. 1 and No. 2 hosts a variety of unique seasonal events throughout the year, such as the Strawberry Festival, Flower Garden, the beer event "Yokohama Oktoberfest," Christmas Market, and the outdoor ice skating rink "Art Link in Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse."

Adjacent to the building is the Red Brick Park, an open park facing the sea, where visitors can stroll while enjoying views of ships passing through the harbor and the skyline of Minato Mirai, or relax on the grassy areas. Right in front, you can see the Yokohama Bay Bridge and the Osanbashi International Passenger Terminal, and at times, there may be opportunities to board cruise ships from the pier.

At night, the Red Brick Warehouse is illuminated in orange, transforming into an enchanting and romantic atmosphere distinct from the daytime. With views of the Landmark Tower and the Cosmo Clock 21 ferris wheel across the sea, it offers a breathtaking night view of Minato Mirai, making it a highly popular spot for dates.

With its historical charm and modern entertainment, Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse embodies a premier tourist destination where visitors can enjoy shopping, gourmet dining, events, leisurely strolls, and night views all in one place.
