Yamashita Park
Yamashita Park opened in 1930 as part of the reconstruction efforts following the Great Kanto Earthquake in Yokohama. This park is known for its beautiful views of the Yokohama Bay Bridge and the passing ships, as well as numerous monuments and stone tablets, making it one of the most popular tourist destinations in Yokohama. Scattered throughout the park are symbols of international exchange, such as the statue of the girl in red shoes and the Indian Water Tower. Additionally, every spring and autumn, a diverse array of roses blooms in the Future Rose Garden, captivating visitors. Further developments were made in 1988 to coincide with the Yokohama Expo, adding new attractions like the World Plaza and the Fun Staircase. Yamashita Park is loved by many for its rich natural beauty, history, and as a venue for international cultural exchange.
