Detailed Information
Yokohama Landmark Tower is one of Japan’s most prominent skyscrapers, standing 296 meters tall with 70 floors above ground. Since opening in 1993, it has been cherished as a symbol of the Minato Mirai district. The tower houses offices, a hotel, an observation floor, and restaurants, and together with the adjacent Landmark Plaza shopping mall, it forms a mixed-use complex where visitors can enjoy sightseeing, business, and shopping all in one of Yokohama’s leading destinations.
Landmark Plaza is a magnificent mall stretching 200 meters in length with a five-story atrium. It features around 160 to 170 shops, including domestic and international brands, fashion accessories, jewelry, anime character stores, cafés, restaurants, and even a post office. Centered around the “Sakata Seed Garden Square” and “Festival Square,” it offers a relaxing space surrounded by flowers and greenery alongside lively event plazas. The popular “JUMP SHOP” may occasionally require admission restrictions when crowded.
The tower’s restaurant area offers a wide range of dining options, including Japanese, Chinese, Italian, Western-style cuisine, cafés, and fast food. During tourist seasons and on weekends, reservations are recommended. In the basement, the entertainment zone “Mirai Yokocho” brings together numerous eateries and is lively from day to night.
The 69th-floor observation area, “Sky Garden,” is located 273 meters above ground and offers a stunning 360-degree panoramic view of Yokohama’s cityscape and harbor. On clear days, you can even see Tokyo Tower, the Tokyo Skytree, the Shinjuku skyline, the Boso Peninsula, the Izu Peninsula, and Mount Fuji. The beautiful evening sky and night views are also well worth seeing. In the 2020 renovation, interactive exhibits, stepped seating, and a library corner were added under the theme “YOKOHAMA 360°,” evolving the space into a place where visitors can stay and enjoy themselves for longer. The weekday-only “Rainy Day Campaign” is also very popular.
On floors 49 through 68 and the 70th floor is the luxury high-rise hotel Yokohama Royal Park Hotel, which has guest rooms from the 52nd floor upward. Guests can enjoy the indulgence of exclusive night views of Yokohama from luxurious rooms, and the hotel is often chosen for anniversary trips, with its high-quality service earning excellent reviews.
In addition, the nearby nationally designated Important Cultural Property “Dockyard Garden” is a plaza that restores one of Japan’s oldest stone docks. Seasonal illuminations and live events are held frequently, drawing large crowds. The Landmark Hall, also used for exhibitions and concerts, functions as a center for cultural exchange.
Yokohama Landmark Tower is easily accessible on foot from JR Sakuragicho Station and Minatomirai Station, and is a comprehensive entertainment tower where you can enjoy sightseeing, shopping, dining, and lodging all at once. With abundant seasonal events and decorations, it is a signature Yokohama attraction where new charms can be discovered with every visit.
