Kasama Inari Shrine

Kasama Inari Shrine

One of Japan's three major Inari shrines, Kasama Inari Shrine, is located in Ibaraki Prefecture and boasts a history of over 1,360 years since its establishment in 651. The main deity worshipped here is Uka no Mitama no Kami, who is revered as a guardian of agriculture, commerce, and fire prevention. The shrine attracts about 3.5 million visitors annually, particularly bustling during the New Year pilgrimage. The main hall, situated behind the worship hall, is a designated Important Cultural Property of the country, and the grounds also feature around 40 restaurants and souvenir shops. In early May, you can see the beautiful wisteria known as "Yaezakura" and "Dai-fuji," while autumn offers stunning views of the colorful foliage, making it a picturesque spot year-round.
