Ushiku Daibutsu (Great Buddha)

Ushiku Daibutsu (Great Buddha)

The Ushiku Daibutsu (officially known as Ushiku Amida Buddha), located near the Ami-Higashi Interchange on the Ken-O Expressway, presents a colossal figure that boasts overwhelming power. Standing at a height of 120 meters (100 meters for the statue itself and 20 meters for the pedestal), it is the largest bronze statue in the world. It was registered in the Guinness World Records in 1995. The interior of the statue is divided into five levels, and from the 85-meter observation window, you can see Tokyo Skytree and Mount Fuji on clear days. Surrounding the area are the Jodo Garden, where flowers bloom in every season, a small animal park, and dining facilities, making it enjoyable for people of all religions. It is also a power spot that is associated with the revered Shinran Shonin.
