Namba Grand Kagetsu

Namba Grand Kagetsu (NGK) is a theater often referred to as the hall of Japanese comedy culture. Operated by Yoshimoto Kogyo, this theater boasts the largest capacity in the country with 858 seats and features a retro interior that evokes a sense of "the good old days of Japan." With an annual visitor count exceeding 1 million, people of all ages can enjoy top-tier comedy performances.

The highlight is the "Yoshimoto Shinkigeki." New productions are staged weekly, showcasing stories in which characters cleverly respond to unexpected accidents. In addition, audiences can enjoy a rich lineup of comedy genres like manzai (stand-up comedy) and rakugo (traditional Japanese storytelling) from Yoshimoto Kogyo.

However, NGK is not just a theater. It has become a landmark representing Minami, Osaka, and features various facilities within the venue. For example, there is a cafe co-developed by Yoshimoto Kogyo and Tully's Coffee, a takoyaki shop called "Yoshitako" run by Yoshimoto comedians, and the "Yoshimoto Entertainment Shop" offering official merchandise, providing tourists with plenty of enjoyment.

Moreover, all seats are reserved, featuring spacious seating that ensures comfort even for long durations. Visitors can also savor Osaka's famous "nikusui" at the restaurant "Chitosebekkan" within the venue. Thus, Namba Grand Kagetsu offers not only laughter but also diverse entertainment options like dining, shopping, and hands-on experiences.

As a "Hall of Laughter," NGK continues to be loved by many from both Japan and abroad. If you love comedy, it is a must-visit attraction in Japan.
