Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine World Heritage Center

When visiting Iwami Ginzan, it's highly recommended to first stop by the Iwami Ginzan World Heritage Center. Here, you can learn about the history of Iwami Ginzan, its connections to the world, and the lives of the people in the mines and towns through extensive exhibits and VR experiences. There are also recreations of parts of the Okubo mine and dioramas that provide an overview of the entire site, allowing you to thoroughly learn about the attractions of Iwami Ginzan in advance. You can enjoy experiences such as making traditional silver coins using low-melting-point alloys and searching for silver, and you can even take home genuine silver particles as souvenirs. To deepen your understanding of the Iwami Ginzan exploration, it's advisable to start with this center for preparation.
