八重垣神社

Yaegaki Shrine

Yaegaki Shrine is known as the deity of matchmaking in Izumo, with Susanoo and Inada-hime as the main deities. The mirror pond on the shrine grounds is popular among young women for a "fortune-telling" ritual where they place coins on washi paper and float it on the water. It is famous as a power spot for achieving romantic success. Additionally, the shrine houses some of the oldest murals in the shrine community, particularly the vivid mural of Inada-hime, which is remarkably well-preserved despite being hundreds of years old. With highlights like the夫妻椿 (married camellia) and more, it offers various blessings to its visitors.
