Osaka Castle
The current main keep, or tenshukaku, was reconstructed in 1931 with donations from citizens. It has over 90 years of history and is recognized as a registered cultural property. This main keep functions as a history museum, showcasing numerous cultural artifacts related to Toyotomi Hideyoshi and the history of Osaka Castle. The exhibition halls inside regularly refresh their displays, offering a diverse experience to visitors.
The Osaka Castle tenshukaku is characterized by its beautiful exterior and golden decorations, soaring to a height of 55 meters with five stories and eight levels. From the observation deck on the eighth floor, visitors can enjoy an expansive view of the Osaka cityscape and the magnificent scenery of Osaka Castle under a blue sky. Major renovations were carried out between 1995 and 1997, enhancing the historical and architectural appeal for a broader audience.
