Detailed Information

“Chano Ma,” scattered among the breathtaking tea fields of Shizuoka Prefecture, is a private tea terrace available only by advance reservation where you can quietly enjoy tea in nature. Making the most of the tea fields’ beautiful scenery, it is cherished as a special space where guests can relax without worrying about those around them. Unlike the bustle of a typical tourist spot, its calm atmosphere surrounded by tea fields is a major attraction, allowing visitors to fully enjoy Shizuoka’s unique “tea time.”

“Chano Ma” is set within scenic tea fields throughout Shizuoka Prefecture, and each location offers a different view. For example, “Tenku no Chano Ma” (the tea room in the sky), built on a slope at an elevation of about 350 meters, is known for its wide-open views and sense of freedom, letting you feel the expanse of the tea fields in a more dynamic way. At “Fujisan no Chano Ma,” where Mt. Fuji and the tea fields can be viewed at the same time, you can enjoy one of Shizuoka’s most iconic landscapes, making it an especially photogenic spot. There are also uniquely attractive locations such as “Ogoni no Chano Ma” (the golden tea room), where the tea fields can appear golden depending on the time of day and the angle of the light.

In total, there are six “Chano Ma” locations that take advantage of these tea-field landscapes, each offering its own atmosphere and views. Even within Shizuoka Prefecture, the mountains, open sky, and shape of the tea fields vary by location, so every visit brings a new discovery.

Use is by advance reservation only, and sessions are generally limited to 90 minutes as a private rental. This setup allows guests to slowly brew and savor tea while taking in the scenery without feeling rushed, even within a limited amount of time. Because it is a private space, it is easy to relax without concern for others, making it ideal for those who want to spend peaceful time with family, friends, or a partner.

Another appeal of “Chano Ma” is that you can enjoy tea grown in the very tea fields and local area where you are visiting. By savoring the aroma and flavor of Shizuoka tea together with the air of the land where the tea leaves are cultivated, you can experience the charm of tea on a deeper level. In addition, as outside food and drinks are allowed, you can bring your favorite sweets or light snacks and enjoy the experience like a picnic. Because you can spend your time at your own pace while gazing at the scenery, it creates a particularly memorable tea-time experience.

“Chano Ma” in Shizuoka Prefecture is an experiential destination where you can enjoy quiet, luxurious moments against the backdrop of magnificent tea fields. It is recommended not only as a sightseeing stop, but also when you want to step away from everyday life and refresh your mind, or when you want to spend special time with someone important to you. Surrounded by grand nature and the aroma of tea, it is a place where you can savor a soothing moment unique to Shizuoka.
