Detailed Information

Konnyaku Park is an interactive theme park where visitors can see, learn about, and taste konnyaku, a traditional Japanese ingredient. Located in Gunma Prefecture, it sits in an area known as the “holy land of konnyaku,” where about 90% of Japan’s konnyaku is produced. The facility was created to share the long-standing culture and delicious appeal of konnyaku with as many people as possible.

Learn About the Appeal of Konnyaku Through a Factory Tour
Inside the park is a factory where visitors can observe how products are made from konnyaku flour, which is made by drying and pulverizing konnyaku potatoes. On the tour, you can see three production lines: the “konnyaku block production line,” the “shirataki production line,” and the “dessert production line” (*the factory operates on weekdays, and the dessert line may not be running during winter).
The detailed movements of the machines are explained with monitor videos, and trivia and fun facts about konnyaku are also introduced through panel displays. This makes learning enjoyable for everyone, and by the end of the tour, you may feel like a konnyaku expert.

Hands-On Konnyaku Making Experience
If you reserve by 1:00 p.m. the day before, you can join the popular hands-on konnyaku-making experience, available for groups of two or more.
The experience includes courses such as making actual konnyaku from konnyaku flour, the colorful “Color Magic Experience,” and the dessert-like “konnyaku jelly making course.” Participants can freely shape their creations and taste them fresh, making it a fun program for both children and adults.

Free Konnyaku Buffet
One of Konnyaku Park’s main attractions is the free “konnyaku buffet.”
The lineup includes unique dishes that you would never guess are made with konnyaku, such as yakisoba, fried chicken, ramen, liver sashimi, and almond tofu. You can enjoy konnyaku, which is low in sugar and rich in dietary fiber, through creative dishes that are both delicious and surprising in appearance. It is hugely popular with both children and adults.

Popular Konnyaku Fill-to-the-Brim and Shopping
A popular souvenir activity is the “konnyaku fill-to-the-brim” experience. For 648 yen including tax, you can pack as much konnyaku as possible into a bag, making it a very talk-worthy attraction.
There is also an on-site “Foods Market,” where you can buy freshly harvested vegetables from Gunma and local specialty products. It is the perfect place to pick up souvenirs.

Relaxing Foot Bath Corner
If you get tired from walking around, you can relax in the foot bath on the grounds. With its Asian-inspired atmosphere and the soothing sounds of “five types of water sounds,” it is the perfect place to take a break during your visit.

Konnyaku Park offers:
- Fun and free factory tours where you can learn about the konnyaku production process
- Hands-on experiences where you can try making konnyaku
- A free buffet where you can enjoy a wide variety of konnyaku dishes
- Souvenirs and the popular fill-to-the-brim experience

It is a facility full of attractions where you can see, make, eat, and relax. It is a popular sightseeing spot representing Gunma, recommended not only for families but also for groups of friends and tourists.
