Imabari Castle
Imabari Castle is a flat-topped castle built by the renowned castle architect Todo Takatora after the Battle of Sekigahara and is one of Japan's three major seaside castles. It faces the Seto Inland Sea and features moats and boat entrances that allowed it to function as a key point for maritime transport during its time. Today, the wide inner moat and stone walls remain, and the main keep and turrets, rebuilt after the Showa era, recreate the castle's original appearance. At night, the castle is illuminated by lighting designer Haruki Kaito, creating a fantastical scene for visitors to enjoy. The museum within the castle offers insights into the region's history and culture.
