Detailed Information
“Spa World: The Grand Hot Spring of the World” is a large-scale hot spring theme park located very near Shinsekai and Tsutenkaku in Naniwa Ward, Osaka. Since opening in 1997, it has been loved not only by local residents but also by tourists from Japan and abroad, and offers a wide variety of facilities that can be enjoyed all day long.
A Hot Spring Zone Where You Can Experience Baths from Around the World
One of the facility’s biggest attractions is its bathing area, divided into the “Europe Zone” and the “Asia Zone.” Since the bathing areas for men and women switch on a monthly basis, there is something fresh to enjoy no matter how many times you visit.
On the 4th-floor “Europe Zone,” you can enjoy bath spaces designed to evoke traditional Western culture, such as an ancient Roman-style bath, a bath inspired by Greece’s Parthenon, and a tub modeled after Italy’s Trevi Fountain.
Meanwhile, the 6th-floor “Asia Zone” offers Japanese hinoki baths and open-air baths, as well as an Islamic-style stone bath and a resort-like bath inspired by Bali, making you feel as though you are traveling around the world. Across both zones, there are 17 baths in 12 countries, each themed around the climate and culture of its respective country.
A Detox Experience with Diverse Saunas and Ganbanyoku Stone Baths
In addition to the hot springs, there are four types of saunas, including a salt sauna and a Finnish sauna house, making the facility very popular with sauna enthusiasts. It also features authentic ganbanyoku stone baths, where men and women can enjoy them together while wearing the provided special yukata-style robes.
The ganbanyoku area consists of rooms themed around eight countries: Israel, Egypt, Turkey, Russia, South Korea, Canada, Austria, and Iceland, each expressing different stones, climates, and cultures. For example, the Israel stone bath includes salt effects inspired by the Dead Sea, creating a relaxing sensation as if you were floating. In Egypt, ceramic materials made from the same components as the stones of the pyramids warm you deeply from within.
“Spa- Poo” for the Whole Family — Indoor Pool and Attractions
The indoor leisure pool “Spa-Poo,” adjacent to the hot spring zone, is also extremely popular. This all-weather facility can be enjoyed without worrying about the weather or getting sunburned, and it offers a full lineup of attractions, including water slides and tube rides that appeal to both children and adults.
Among them, the giant 150-meter slide “Panic Tornado” allows up to three people to ride together and delivers a thrilling experience. In addition, the renovated “Zoku Zoku Burn,” updated in 2024, offers an adrenaline-pumping ride in which you plunge down from a height of 10 meters and then race up a 70-degree incline all at once.
Relaxation and Fitness Facilities in Abundance
Spa World also offers extensive relaxation facilities centered on healing and health. In addition to treatments such as chiropractic-style bodywork, aromatherapy oil massage, and foot reflexology, it also has a training gym, making it popular with health-conscious visitors. Combined with the spring water, which is said to be effective for joint pain and sensitivity to cold, it helps refresh both body and mind.
Comfortable Stays with Gourmet Food and Lodging
The food court and restaurants inside the facility offer many appetizing local specialties from Osaka, including takoyaki, kushikatsu, okonomiyaki, and ramen. They are perfect for satisfying a small hunger after bathing.
There is also an accommodation facility on-site, with a variety of Japanese and Western-style rooms available. With excellent access to nearby sightseeing spots such as Tsutenkaku, Shinsekai, and Abeno Harukas, it is an ideal base for sightseeing in Osaka.
“Spa World: The Grand Hot Spring of the World” is one of Osaka’s premier spa resorts, where you can enjoy hot spring culture and relaxation from around the world all in one place. It suits every purpose—sightseeing, relaxation, family outings, and health improvement—and is a comprehensive facility that can cater to couples, friends, families, and visitors of all kinds.
