Noritake Garden
"Noritake no Mori" is a cultural complex created in Nagoya City to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the ceramics manufacturer "Noritake." Noritake started in 1904 under the name "Nihon Toki Gomei Kaisha" and completed Japan's first dinner set. This facility showcases its history, technology, and products all in one place.
Inside the facility, there is a welcome center that introduces the history of Noritake, as well as a "Craft Center" where visitors can learn about the manufacturing process of bone china. Notably, visitors can experience painting on plates and mugs on the second floor of the Craft Center (no reservation required).
There is also "Noritake Square Nagoya," where various tableware and dining-related products can be purchased, and a museum displaying artwork and early Noritake products. The grounds are lush and feature a fountain plaza, monuments with six smokestacks, and green spaces, providing a tranquil oasis in the city center for visitors.
The facility is known for its dining options, with restaurants and cafes that serve meals on Noritake tableware. The entire complex is wheelchair accessible, making it a welcoming spot for everyone to enjoy. "Noritake no Mori" aptly embodies the theme of meeting culture and relaxing in nature, making it beloved not only by tourists but also by local residents.
