Kyushu National Museum
The Kyushu National Museum is the fourth national museum in Japan, following those in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Nara. It opened in 2005 in Dazaifu City, Fukuoka Prefecture. This museum has the concept of "capturing the formation of Japanese culture from an Asian historical perspective," showcasing the history of cultural exchange between Japan and Asia. Its exterior features a streamlined design that blends with the natural surroundings, characterized by a large roof and glass façades. On the first floor, "Ajippa" allows visitors to experience Asian culture for free and hosts various events. The third floor houses special exhibition rooms that hold four exhibitions a year, while the fourth floor features permanent displays themed around Japan-Asia exchanges. The exhibits are frequently updated, creating "a living museum" where new discoveries can be made.
