Shiseki Takamatsu Castle Ruins and Tamamo Park
Takamatsu Castle Ruins and Tamamo Park, designated as a national historic site, is a park that has been developed around the remains of Takamatsu Castle, which served as the residence of the Ikoma clan, the feudal lords of Sanuki Province, and the Matsudaira clan, the lords of Takamatsu domain. This castle is one of Japan's three great water castles, featuring a unique structure that draws seawater from the Seto Inland Sea into its moats. Within the park, you can find important cultural properties such as turrets and gates, as well as a nationally designated scenic garden. Visitors can also enjoy seasonal events such as cherry blossom viewing in spring and chrysanthemum exhibitions in autumn. Tamamo Park is cherished as a tourist spot that blends historical charm with natural beauty.
