Detailed Information
Kamogawa Sea World is an aquarium in the Boso Peninsula of Chiba Prefecture, themed around “Encounters with the World of the Sea.” Inside the facility, around 800 species and 11,000 specimens of river and marine life are on display. Through exhibits that realistically recreate natural environments such as the seas and rivers of Boso and tropical coral reefs, visitors can feel the pulse of life up close.
Another highlight is the use of advanced technology in exhibits such as “Jellyfish Life,” a jellyfish display utilizing digital technology, and “Coral Message,” where visitors can enjoyably learn about the diverse ecology of coral reefs through 3D and CG visuals.
Kamogawa Sea World is loved by visitors of all ages, from children to adults, as a place where they can experience and learn about “the warmth of life” and “the importance of the environment.”

With the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop, killer whales over 5 meters long deliver powerful, breathtaking jumps. The show is so immersive that the spray reaches the audience, making it one of the facility’s signature and most popular programs.
● Dolphin Performance
Bottlenose dolphins and Pacific white-sided dolphins perform a series of high-speed jumps and perfectly synchronized routines. This is a show full of speed and beauty.
● Beluga Performance
The adorable belugas, known for their charming appearance and lovable calls, introduce abilities such as echolocation.
● Sea Lion Performance
Sea lions delight the audience with comedic movements and short skits that bring smiles to everyone’s faces.

The aquarium works closely with local communities, including collecting exhibited animals with the cooperation of fishermen and collaborating on events with government agencies, police, and tourism associations.
Since 2016, it has also held “Kamogawa Citizens Day,” a free admission event for residents of Kamogawa City.
■ Dining and Shopping Are Also Full of Appeal

The only restaurant in eastern Japan where guests can dine while watching killer whales swim beyond the viewing windows. Popular offerings include “Boso Food” made with local ingredients and photogenic sweets called “Kamo Sweets.”
● In-house Shops
A wide selection of original plush toys, sweets, goods, stationery, apparel, and more is available.
The “Killer Whale Lottery” is especially popular, and the first-prize plush toy is so large that even an adult can hardly hold it in their arms.
