Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum

Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum

The Kawaguchiko Music and Forest Museum is located near the beautiful Lake Kawaguchi and boasts the largest collection of music boxes and automatic instruments in the world. Here, visitors can admire numerous historic instruments, including the world’s largest dance organ and an orchestrion which was intended for the Titanic. Particularly, live performances of string quartets by Czech musicians can be enjoyed.

The museum is more than just an exhibition space; it features a lovely garden adorned with a rose garden and seasonal flowers, allowing guests to appreciate a beautiful landscape that changes with the seasons. The collection of old roses once cherished by nobles is especially noteworthy.

Opened in 1999 as the "UKAI Kawaguchi Music Box Forest" and renamed in 2020, the museum seamlessly blends music, forest, and art into one captivating space. At the restaurant "Le Rivage," guests can enjoy a graceful time while overlooking this beautiful garden.

The museum shop offers a great shopping experience, where visitors can find unique music boxes and other souvenirs to commemorate their visit. This museum can be considered a theme park of music, providing an excellent entertainment spot for families, friends, and couples alike. With a wide range of attractions and stunning landscapes, the Kawaguchiko Music and Forest Museum truly captivates its visitors.
