Yamato Museum (Kure Maritime Museum)
The Yamato Museum (Kure Maritime History and Science Museum) is a museum that introduces the history of Kure City, which thrived as a military port where the battleship "Yamato" was built, as well as scientific technologies related to shipbuilding and steelmaking. Inside the museum, a magnificent one-tenth scale model of the battleship "Yamato" is on display, overwhelming visitors. Additionally, numerous valuable artifacts such as the Zero Fighter plane and the human torpedo "Kaiten" are exhibited, allowing visitors to learn about the technology and history during the Pacific War. Furthermore, on weekends, the museum hosts science shows and craft workshops for children, making it a family-friendly facility.
